A Pet-Friendly Sectional at Wallaroo’s
At Wallaroo’s, you might notice many pieces of our furniture are named after people. That’s only partially because we’re overly attached to furniture! The only thing we care about more than furniture is our family, friends, and beloved pets! That’s why so many of our pieces are named after our loved ones. This week, we’d like to highlight our brown, pet-friendly sectional, the Yoko. Nathan and Bailee named it after their furry friend, Yoko! The Source of our Inspiration Nathan and Bailee rescued Yoko from Higher Ground Animal Sanctuary in Mead, Washington. Higher Ground’s mission is to rescue and provide sanctuary for homeless animals and other animals in need to offer a place of refuge. Their goal is to create a better rescue culture and a better world for animals. If you’re not looking to provide a forever home at the moment, maybe you’ll consider donating to Higher Ground – it’s a tough world for non-profits. Yoko is part Mastiff and the couple was told she would be BIG – but, sometimes big surprises come in little packages and Yoko capped out at 55lbs. Bailee had this to say about Yoko: “You never know what you’ll get when you adopt a rescue, but we always say we won the rescue lottery because she is the sweetest dog who loves our son Vincent. She’s patient, protective, and lovely. The Details To show their appreciation for all Yoko provides to their lives, they developed a pet-friendly couch. The Yoko is made of a non-woven fabric that will not attract or hold on to pet hair. It’s hardwood frame and dense foam make it a durable, play-time friendly option for all pet owners. There’s an estimated 70 million stray animals in the country and only about 7 million make their way into animal shelters each year. If you’re in the position to provide a forever home for an animal in the future, please consider adopting and providing for an animal in need.

Wallaroo’s Furniture and Mattresses – Who We Are and Why
From Student to Business Man At Wallaroo’s Furniture and Mattresses, we have a passion for bringing the hottest deals to the Pacific Northwest. While we love all forms of furniture, we specialize in a wide selection of high-end mattresses and furniture. We offer these items to our customers for the lowest price possible. This is due to our unique, factory-direct sourcing. We’re able to create affordable, Wallaroo’s exclusive furniture that is higher quality and at a better price than our competitors. Wallaroo’s began in 2014, during owner Nathan Chetrit’s senior year at Gonzaga University. As an accounting student, Nathan used his number crunching abilities and business savvy to flip furniture. By mid-2014, he was able to open a small warehouse, which was only open on the weekends. Business is all about supply and demand, and his furniture and mattresses were in demand. After thinking on it, he decided to unenroll from his Master’s program at Gonzaga University and work at the shop every day. Unexpected and Exciting Growth Through the PNW This business eventually became Spokane Overstock — the predecessor of Wallaroo’s Furniture and Mattresses. Spokane Overstock specialized in selling high-end overstock from companies like Home Depot and Macy’s. Eventually, Nathan branched out into selling factory-direct mattresses from Serta and Simmons. Nathan worked as the only salesman for the first two years and learned the importance of customer satisfaction. This is a core value of Wallaroo’s. We ensure our customers leave Wallaroo’s and Spokane Overstock stores happy. Sure, there will always be mistakes, but Nathan insists we find a solution that will thrill the customer. As business was booming, Spokane Overstock opened its first storefront in 2015. Nathan was able to begin importing new furniture from his suppliers. Nathan also began curating his unique approach to sales culture—without massive price tags and middlemen to keep happy, pushy sales folk seemed unnecessary. Instead, we focus on offering the best value in town and letting the furniture sell itself. Our sales folk focus on ensuring our customers find items that fit their needs and aesthetic. From the moment you enter our doors to the moment we drop your furniture off at your home, we want to ensure you are 100% satisfied with your experience. Finding Love and Success The next few years were spent growing, expanding, and evolving. In 2017, Nathan opened Coeur d’Alene Overstock, followed by locations in Boise and Missoula in 2018. By mid 2018, having moved away from selling overstock from Macy’s and Home Depot, the company was ready for a change in brand. Thus, Wallaroo’s was born. Around this time, Nathan met the love of his life, Bailee, and began a new adventure as a family man. Since Nathan met Bailee, she has been an integral part of the business and her eye for design can be seen in many of our pieces, like this one! The couple has two children and are passionate about ensuring every family has access to affordable furniture. 2019 was filled with new challenges and adventures. While already purchasing directly from manufacturers abroad, Nathan values in person communication and meeting face to face. This meant a trip abroad to China to meet with his business partners and discuss the future and determine how to navigate Tariffs. In 2020, Wallaroo’s is excited to move forward. With locations in Spokane, Boise, Coeur d’Alene, and Missoula, we’re looking to branch out nationally within the next 5 years. Two Must-Have Corner Sectionals
When talking about different kinds of sectionals, we usually differentiate them based on their shape. There are U-shaped sectionals and L-shaped sectionals, both of which are pretty self-explanatory based on their names! There are also modular sectionals, but that’s a topic for another day.
