Spring Cleaning Season
There’s just something about the Spring season that feels so refreshing, rejuvenating, and like a new start. We know we aren’t the only one that feels this way. It’s the perfect time of year to do some Spring cleaning, declutter your house, and start the warmer months on a good note. Since today is Earth Day, we wanted to celebrate Spring, regrowth, and this lovely planet we get to call home. We figured we’d show off a few of our favorite pieces for easy cleaning, and love for the environment. Slipcover Sofa A newbie around here and also one of our best sofas for easy cleaning would have to be the Monica! The Monica is a slipcover, L-shaped sectional. It’s called a slipcover sofa because all of the cushion and base covers are completely removable and machine-washable. No more trying to spot clean stains off of your sofa cushions, and no more avoiding white and cream sofas because you’re too afraid of spilling and staining! The Monica comes in two colors, Canvas, and Brown. It has pocketed-coil cushions and a hardwood frame that are built to last. This sofa is built with the aftermath of a good party, or a messy toddler in mind! Never again will you have to scramble to soak up a wine stain. The machine-washable covers make cleanup extra easy, no hand-scrubbing stains out, just pop them in the wash! Perfect for families, messy teens, clumsy adults, and everyone in-between! Could you picture the Monica in your home? The Bliss Another absolute favorite around here is . You know we brag about this guy all the time, but there’s a good reason for that! It’s a best-seller, super stylish, and comfy as heck. This modular sectional comes in two different sizes, three different colors, and is sold by the piece! It also happens to have removable cushion and base covers! Like the Monica, you can fully remove all of the covers and wash them! Be gentle though, washing machines may be too aggressive for the Bliss’s upholstery. We’re in the process of fabricating a Performance Upholstery for the Bliss that will repel stains, but that’s not quite ready yet. In the meantime, continue loving on your Bliss as you normally do and enjoy the removable cover feature that allows for easy cleaning! India Accent Furniture You all know and love our Direct-from-India line of accent furniture! It’s one of our very favorite shipments to receive and unbox. Each piece is totally unique and one-of-a-kind. These pieces are all handmade in India from reclaimed wood. Using repurposed building materials is an amazing way to cut down on waste that would otherwise head to landfills and contribute to our worldwide pollution problem. It’s really cool to see those details in the old reclaimed wood, and metal accents on these pieces. Knowing that they are quality-made and environmentally friendly makes them all that much better. Going viral on TikTok
Ahh, TikTok. We know it, we love it, we’re extremely confused by it. If you’ve ever scrolled on TikTok, you know the videos that pop up on your for you page seem completely random. But is it actually random? Is it as easy to go viral on TikTok as some make it seem? TikTok’s algorithm is smart, genius even. Different types of videos you like and replay multiple times all have a huge effect on your account and play a role in what videos TikTok continues showing you. The sheer amount of content out there is mind-blowing. Have you ever accidentally refreshed and lost the video you had been watching? You probably never found it again, huh? You can tell the app what you like, what you don’t like, and what you want to see more or less of. It learns who you are. How does TikTok work? If you are familiar with TikTok, you may think of it as just another social media app. In some ways, but it’s also unique to itself. Going “viral” and gaining views, likes and followers seems to be easier, and more likely for many content creators. People that have tried all of the things on Instagram and Facebook with no luck turn to TikTok and blow up instantly. TikTok also doesn’t have a type, it’s for everyone, any business, and any interest. There are thousands and thousands of genres, sub-genres, and “sides” of TikTok. It’s where people go for recipes, home renovation tips, makeup products, DIY ideas, and so so much more. How TikTok boosts sales Another thing about TikTok is how many sales it boosts when a product goes viral. Once something blows up, it sells out. Did you go to Walmart trying to find the magic shave powder? Or the Infallible Powder foundation? Or the Cera Ve tinted SPF? I did, for all three😂. We’ve seen a lot of people posting house tours, furniture dupes, styling tips, and more, so why shouldn’t Wallaroos become TikTok savages as well?? Well, that’s exactly what we decided to do. We started posting very frequently, as per the algorithm’s request, we started varying our content, duetting other accounts, using popular sounds, really just anything we could think of. And guess what? It worked. We actually went viral. A few times, actually. Our experience with TikTok Our first video that gained some traction was of our pet-friendly Yoko sectional. We got 33k views, 5k likes, and quite a few new followers. We decided it likely blew up due to the pet-friendliness, and trendy look. People on TikTok are always looking for inspiration on home furnishings and such. We were pretty psyched about this, but it wasn’t the kind of exposure we were quite hoping for. Just a week or so ago, we posted about the Maxwell petite sectional. It exploded, in our eyes, anyway. It got over 900k views, 75k likes, and boosted our following tremendously. It also lead to over 10 completed sales, and dozens of inquiries from people all over the country asking about shipping, costs, and more. On top of that, it boosted views and likes on a lot of our other videos too! This is exactly what we were hoping for from TikTok, and it taught us a lot. It taught us that spurring our e-commerce is an absolute must. It also showed us that offering shipping more readily and easily is in our future. Conversations we thought would be 5 years down the road were fast-forwarded to today. We are realizing if our videos and products are going to be getting this kind of exposure and interest, we need to have the processes in place to support it. We could not be more excited about all of this, and the potential Wallaroo’s has to be a nationwide brand like we’ve always hoped. We’ve probably all stayed in an Airbnb before, or maybe we know someone who owns and rents out their own space on Airbnb. In the past 13 years since Airbnb started, it has grown exponentially in popularity. Airbnbs have become many people’s homes away from home. One thing you maybe haven’t considered is what it takes to furnish an Airbnb. Keep reading to learn more! What does it take to furnish an Airbnb? Furnishing Airbnbs is a bit different than furnishing a family home. Airbnbs are highly trafficked, so they need sturdy and durable furniture. They also need functional pieces that can double as living and sleeping space. The Sven fold-down sofa bed, the Alex storage sectional, and the Smith sleeper sofa are all excellent options for functional living and sleeping furniture. The more sleep space an Airbnb has, the more money they can get per reservation. This is where we step in! When owners or developers are looking to furnish their Airbnb, they’ll frequently turn to a staging or furnishing company. These types of companies can give great advice and guidance on how best to set up and furnish a space. Did you know that Wallaroo’s furnishes and stages homes and Airbnbs for any need? How we got into staging and furnishing Airbnbs Nathan and Bailee have furnished and managed their own Airbnbs in the past. When new Wallaroo’s stores open up, Nathan and Bailee pack up and move to support the new store. In both Boise and Missoula, they purchased homes to live in while they were there and then listed them as short-term rentals on Airbnb when they were leaving the areas. Their first-hand experience managing their own Airbnb properties eventually led to larger projects. They began working with Realtors and Property Management companies to help furnish full buildings of short-term Airbnb rentals. Nathan and Bailee have a good relationship with the owners of a high-rise building in Spokane. Most of the units in this building are used as Airbnb rentals, and Wallaroo’s was commissioned to furnish each of them. It’s all about building relationships when getting into large furnishing and staging projects for Wallaroo’s. Having connections with various Realtors and Property Managers in the area that are looking to furnish their Airbnbs or new developments, that we could partner with is something we get super excited about. Our newest project We’re currently working on a new project of fully furnishing 20 units to be Airbnbs. The units are being renovated right now, and 10 are set to be complete and ready for furnishings on Friday. The units range in size from larger apartment-style flats to smaller studios. Our new TiffNav collection will find homes in some of the larger Airbnbs, and we’re also going to be bringing in some really unique accent pieces. The look we’re trying to achieve with this newest Airbnb furnishing project is a very trendy, yet sophisticated look. Think Ace Hotel with some boho vibes thrown in. Leather furniture, Pendleton blankets. Sophistication and class are what we’re going for. From projects large to small, we love getting to see a space come together. Staging homes and furnishing Airbnbs has been a bit of a passion project of ours, and we love getting to see how they turn out! After 15 months of being stuck in our houses day after day, we are finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Memorial Day weekend feels different this year, it feels like a new start. And what better way to celebrate than to refresh, revamp, and re-decorate your home! Memorial Day weekend is huge for the furniture and home goods industries. Everyone wants to get their homes looking perfect for summer! Of course, we have been affected in some ways, the blockage of the Suez Canal results in delays for everyone. Fortunately for us, we are still able to have 80% of our product in stock at all times! Over $1,000 purchases have a monthly payment of 3.5% of payment. Synchrony works similarly to a credit card. All you have to do is apply for and get approved! Acima is a no credit needed option, with a one-year term and 90 days same as cash. Customers pay $54 down and get approved for a one-year loan that is to be paid off within one year. In both Boise and Missoula, they purchased homes to live in while they were there and then listed them as short-term rentals on Airbnb when they were leaving the areas. Their first-hand experience managing their own Airbnb properties eventually led to larger projects. They began working with Realtors and Property Management companies to help furnish full buildings of short-term Airbnb rentals. Nathan and Bailee have a good relationship with the owners of a high-rise building in Spokane. Most of the units in this building are used as Airbnb rentals, and Wallaroo’s was commissioned to furnish each of them. It’s all about building relationships when getting into large furnishing and staging projects for Wallaroo’s. Having connections with various Realtors and Property Managers in the area that are looking to furnish their Airbnbs or new developments, that we could partner with is something we get super excited about. Our newest project We’re currently working on a new project of fully furnishing 20 units to be Airbnbs. The units are being renovated right now, and 10 are set to be complete and ready for furnishings on Friday. The units range in size from larger apartment-style flats to smaller studios. Our new TiffNav collection will find homes in some of the larger Airbnbs, and we’re also going to be bringing in some really unique accent pieces. The look we’re trying to achieve with this newest Airbnb furnishing project is a very trendy, yet sophisticated look. Think Ace Hotel with some boho vibes thrown in. Leather furniture, Pendleton blankets. Sophistication and class are what we’re going for. From projects large to small, we love getting to see a space come together.
